Indigo and us, a story that’s got wheels
Committed to clean mobility, Indigo (formerly VINCI Park) and IZIVIA began rolling out and marketing charging solutions in 2013, aimed at all electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles on the market. Indigo, the market leader when it comes to car parks, called upon the services of our experts to help with the ambitious project of equipping their car parks with more than 130 charging points throughout France. In 2016, we signed up for another 3 years and several hundred new charging points.
The map of Indigo car parks equipped with charging points is available in real time on our website, and shows you the status, power and prices.
Alongside Indigo, we have managed to anticipate our clients’ desire to travel by offering a single Pass to access charging points operated by IZIVIA, Indigo and other charging network owners (SDE76, Grenoble, etc.), under the IZIVIA Mobilité brand, available since 2015.
In 2016, to helps its clients, and in response to feedback, Indigo was keen to expand its network by installing another 300 charging points in its car parks. This joint project was possible thanks to the help of the ADVENIR programme.
January 2017: Juliette Antoine Simon (IZIVIA’s MD) and Serge Clemente (Indigo’s CEO) signed another 3-year contract, whereby IZIVIA will handle corrective and preventive maintenance as well as developing proprietary access solutions for Indigo, including in particular via its 100% digital subsidiary OPnGO. Among other things, OPnGO has developed an app offering easy “hands-free” access to car parks thanks to number plate recognition, eliminating the need for tickets.
As Juliette Antoine-Simon, IZIVIA’s Managing Director, explains: “After working together for 3 years and installing 130 charging points in around 20 car parks, Indigo has once again chosen IZIVIA to roll out and operate its charging network. This renewed partnership demonstrates their confidence in us perfectly. IZIVIA will therefore continue to offer Indigo the benefits of its expertise across the whole value chain for electric charging, from installing the charging points to the technical and commercial management of the service. Indigo’s national roll-out programme also helps IZIVIA further extend the network of charging points available to its customers. Indigo and IZIVIA are working together to make mobility easier for drivers of electric vehicles.”
For Sébastien Fraise, Indigo’s Deputy Managing Director and France Director: “Indigo was the first car park operator to offer a suitable charging service for electric vehicles. Since 2014, we have been relying on IZIVIA’s know-how to make this ambitious project a success. We would like to make life easier for drivers who have chosen to go fully electric, at the same time as helping local authorities roll out their energy transition plans, aiming to install 7 million charging points for electric cars by 2030. We are also seeing a significant increase in demand, with the monthly number of charges rising from 260 in January 2014 to 669 in September 2016 in all of our adapted car parks.”
For Antoine Rusch, project manager at IZIVIA, and the person in charge of the Indigo projects: “The role of a project manager at IZIVIA is similar to that of a key account manager: we are the commercial point of contact for our clients, we work on the contracts with the help of our legal experts. But what is interesting is that we also have a technical role to play when it comes to implementation. In practical terms, I work alongside Indigo throughout the whole project, from negotiating the contract to getting the charging points up and running, including managing the rollout. So it’s a very comprehensive role, and it is always hugely satisfying when a client like Indigo renews its contract with us. It’s proof that we’ve done a good job!”
